Good morning, Loves! Did you have a good weekend? Today I'm taking you back to Nantucket for a dreamy visit to  The White Elephant Hotel. The hotel has been an island landmark since 1920. It stands gray-shingled and magnificent, overlooking Nantucket harbor, with views of the very charming and historic town as a backdrop. It is an intoxicating mix of charm and sophistication.

It's location cannot be beat. It is a short stroll to the Brant Point Lighthouse, boutiques, art galleries, and one of my favorite restaurants, Lola 41.

From the minute Logan and I arrived on site, we were showered with personal attention. In fact, they treated us as if we were royalty. The General Manager gave us a personal tour and made us feel very welcome. The entire staff was beyond friendly and extremely helpful.

The hotel has a lovely library. It's cozy ambiance makes you want to linger with a great book or savor the morning paper with a fresh cup of coffee. The holiday decorations were all ready underway, as you can see by the sea-inspired holiday décor. Lovely.

The hotel's restaurant, The Brant Point Grill , is an island favorite. Dinner guests can savor the freshest local seafood, delicious steaks, and choose from a fabulous selection of wines, all while overlooking the flickering lights that dot the harbor. The Brant Point Grill has been been consistently voted the best Sunday Brunch by The Inquirer + Mirror.

The hotel was busy preparing for a gorgeous autumn wedding the morning we arrived. The White Elephant has a stellar reputation as a the perfect setting for any bride-to-be planning a destination wedding.

Our suite was elegant, sophisticated, comfortable and spacious. The little details are what really make something extraordinary, don't you agree? They had me at the little blue box of chocolates! The linens were top notch and I'm not exaggerating when I say I think it was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Apparently, I'm not the only guest who thinks so, because the linens are for sale in the hotel gift shop.

The bathroom was well lit, spacious, and had luxurious toiletries and an abundance of soft fluffy towels. We had an early morning ferry to catch, so I appreciated that the bedroom had french doors I could close, allowing my daughter the luxury of sleeping in while I showered.

Shortly after arriving, we got a surprise knock at our door from room service. We were treated to a bottle of Heidsieck + Co. Monopole Blue Top Champagne, fresh strawberries and whipped cream. I told you the service was amazing! You can read more about our champagne moment here. Coincidentally, I read that this is the same champagne that they served on the Titanic. When the ship's wreckage was found, there were some bottles of champagne left unscathed - so they drank them! Silly sailors.

We were on the ground level so we had a little sitting area right outside our door to take in the fresh air, harbor sights and sounds.

We decided to use our spa vouchers that the hotel so generously provided us towards a much needed Mother / Daughter massage. It was heavenly. If you go, I highly recommend that you request Caroline. She is a more than a massage therapist, she is a magician, making knots and worries disappear by inducing a dream-like state of aromatherapy infused happiness. I chose the Romance scented aromatherapy oils. Pure heaven.

The hotel is closes for the 2012 season after the island's famous Christmas Stroll that takes place November 30th-December 2cnd. The property will re-open on April 18th and reservations for the 2013 season are being accepted. You can make a reservation by calling 1-800-445-6574.

I would like to thank everyone who made my travel feature possible, providing me with accommodation, and for just downright spoiling me rotten:

Lauren Wintemberg of Alice Marshall Public Relations.

Bridgette Hynes, Director of Business Development for Nantucket Island Resorts.

And a very special thank you to the very gracious Bettina Landt / General Manager, and Graham Saunders/Manager who went above and beyond.
